Together….Making the World a Better Place….One Child at a Time
My philosophy is to address the whole child from character to education, with the goal to help build the foundation for them to become socially, intellectually, and emotionally balanced adults. I found the key with my children was in helping them love to learn in an encouraging, relaxed, environment and respecting them for the gifts they bring and the thoughts they have. One of my greatest joys was teaching all four of them to read! There was plenty of values based literature, science experiments that made the world appear magical, sunshine, laughter, tea parties with cookies, and limited media so their imaginations could soar on its own.
When deciding to return back to work, I thought about what I truly enjoy and what I could provide as a service to others. When I had four children in five years, I did not have much of a support system. Many times I wished I had someone I trusted to count on. My goal is to provide that opportunity for families who are a good match for my preschool. I would like to work together in helping your child blossom to their fullest potential in a safe, clean, nurturing, enjoyable and educational environment. I bring a skill set that includes over 20 years as a mother, writer, home educator, FIRST Lego League project coach, and organizer of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) speakers and field trips.
According to the National Association for Family Child Care, “Significant research has provided evidence that warm, loving, and home-like settings are natural learning environments for children during early childhood. While offering the safety and comfort of home, and providing a consistent caregiver throughout the years, family child care is the preferred arrangement for many parents.” My preschool has an eclectic curriculum that includes Classic Literature, Imaginative Play, Science Experiments, Snap Circuits, Legos, Value Books, and Unit Studies.
I am a California State Licensed Family Home Childcare provider. License number: 414004194 – CPR/First Aid certified and Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training.
